Talking on IM with a girl I like; we haven't spoken much for a while. She's got a boyfriend x, whom I think is a bad match for her, but that's none of my business. Anyway, last time I really heard much from her they were having a rough patch. Arguing lots and stuff.

So, how are you and x, I ask innocently.

They get their hopes up real high then the girl goes back to or stays with the guy that she told them was so bad to her. And with things even better than they were before, marriage, houses, etc.

Then the, "thanks for being such a good friend to me", "I'm going to miss you"

the internets are a hard place to find romance for most people, that's not to say it doesn't happen to a fair number of people, but the people you are most likely to hook up with are in your own area.

29. Thats why you should NEVER be sweet on just one girl.

And never be friends before you try to pull a move. To many girls out there....why spend time being some sort of emotional tampon to just one? I learned that little lesson early (THANK GOD). If you fuck up your attempts to get with her, and you know you don't have a chance, then become friends because you have nothing to lose.

I never make friends with people I find attractive unless I know I don't have a chance. Then they become my friends, and I lose all intention to try to pick them up, and focus on the next. If anything, having attractive female friends provides you with some social proof..easier picking up if your surrounded with gorgeous women ;)
