I hate family parties...

I'm missing one right now, my younger sister's daughter's catechism "graduation."

My reasons for not going?
Last Saturday we had another big family party, for my nephew, his girlfriend and their new baby.

And I was bored silly through most of it.

I have a couple relatives who make even the Freepers look like DU'ers. :crazy:
One of them is going deaf, so he spouts his horribly racist garbage quite loudly.

1. I do, too.

When my mother passed away and my brother started behaving like an ass, I no longer had to go. But then I had to go and get married, so I feel I should attend at least some of my husband's family's fussy events.

2. I'm no longer invited to any family events

I have one of many freeper relatives who started spreading false accusations about me that had no basis in reality. I simply stated that I would attend family gatherings again if the accusations were retracted and I was issued an apology. What I received was a letter saying "I'm sorry you're a liberal asshole and a poor excuse for a human being".

Got to love family. (Or do we really have to?)
