Anyone here familiar with Microsoft Access (please help)
I have a database that keeps track of all the choral music in my library.

I would like to create a search form that looks just like my main form. This way, I can search on any item and get a results window. (or something similar - something to keep me from visually scanning 900 titles)

I have posted the database here. I appreciate any help you can get:

1. Is your original database made from an MS template?
If so, you can probably just create a new database using the same graphics/template as your original. I think MS Access includes a music catalog template that you can create via wizard.

3. Try poking around in the Northwind DB that comes with Access
There are a ton of examples of how this is implemented.

5. here's a way to do it
if you don't want to create any new forms or anything....

say you want to search for a particular song Title
-click on the Title field textbox
-click the toolbar button "Filter By Form" (or go to Record Menu -> Filter -> Filter By Form)
-start typing in the song Title you are looking for, it should adjust whats in the Title textbox based on what you are typing. you can also click the drop down box to see what is close
-if you find your song title, click "Apply Filter" toolbar button (or REcords->Apply Filter) and it will bring up the entire record
-click Remove Filter to have all your records display again

good luck :)
