Anyone watch HEROS tonight ?? |
|
It was the season finale and the best on the edge of your seat show I've seen in a looooooooooooong time. Of course I was rooting for the good guys --- Hero, Peter and Claire.

I had a bit of a problem with how peripheral Sylar became at the end. If it was Peter that was Mr Boom all along then killing (or wounding as the case turned out) Sylar had nothing to do with it and thus saving the Cheerleader became irrelevant.

if Sylar killed Claire, then he would have absorbed her regeneration powers and Hiro stabbing him in the gut would have done nothing. Now he is wounded but who knows how severely
on edit: The saving the cheerleader bit did do quite a lot in setting up the Claire/Peter dynamic and their relationship ultimately caused Nathan to do the right thing in the end

had he lived, there would have been something creepy to let viewers know and that didn't happen. Buh-bye Sylar.

4. You're probably right... |
|
from what I've heard next season is going to deal more with how they became different from regular mortals and I don't see Sylar fitting into that story line

Um actually they did. If you have it recorded go back and check. Blood trail leading off to a sewer cover with a cockroach crawling on it and no sign of Sylar to be found.

9. Sylar didn't become peripheral at the end |
|
he is one of the challenges that the Heroes will face next season. The season finale left enough unanswered questions to makes us want next season to start tomorrow.

14. Sounds like a rewrite to me |
|
I am reminded of Twin Peaks where they had a very interesting first season but the creators never thought the show would go beyond that. So all the tension and atmosphere got shifted right at the end because they suddenly had to connect to a continuing plot.
Heroes was leading up to a finally. And we got one but it just doesn't seem to me to be the one they had been writing for up till that point. They did not expect to be the networks only hit to survive the season.

16. What unanswered questions? |
|
Here's all I can come up with:
1) Is Peter still alive? 2) Is Sylar still alive? 3) Why is Hiro in feudal Japan, and is that his father? 4) Who is "worse than the boogeyman"? (which, by the way, was incredibly lame)
Those aren't even really intriguing questions, IMHO. They didn't do much of anything substantial to set the stage for season 2.

Seriously, it was a freakin filler episode more than anything. I can't possibly state how utterly disappointed I was.
