I think I chose security over love...
and ended up with very watered down versions of both.

If I'd chosen love over security, would love have prevailed?

1. no but i dont think you can have security without love either
i mean no one can tell if love will prevail.

but can you really be secure in a relationship where there is no love, especially in this culture?

14. No, one cannot tell
but one can tell that where the love isn't what it needs to be, and the security is put first, then watered down versions of each seem to be what is left after many years.

in other words, the "love" doesn't grow into something it never was, and the security, it feels false without the other.

13. is that for real?
it reminds me of Ben Franklin's quote

about security over freedom.

Hmmmmm

but it is perhaps still very true.

4. I choose honesty over everything.
Honesty over security.

Honesty over Love.

And apparently honesty over false friendships. :hi:

6. Wish there was a formula :(
I chose honor over love and it turned out to be about 18 years of torture. As of 2-3 years ago I'm freeeeeeee! Turns out I didn't handle freedom well. I'm working on that still.

16. Hmmmm...
The two are not mutually exclusive, but I don't think anyone should choose security over love, if possible. Is that security worth a life without love? Maybe to some, but not to me. I think that true love gives you a level of security that is unparalleled.

23. There are many who choose security over love.
I did at one point and learned early on, thankfully, that security is not what made me happy.

I am a deeply emotional person, and I must have plenty of love and affection.

Once I finally had that love in my life the security fell into place.

I will admit that I am a very lucky woman, and though not everyone has experienced the love that my husband and I have, I truly wish that kind of love for everyone. There is nothing like it in the world. It's not something you would ever trade or sell. It's priceless.

And I'll stop being such a sap now.

26. the road not taken
who is to say what would have been?

I chose love everytime and wound up getting dumped, over and over and over again... ad infinitum. It turns out I was loving all the wrong people.

Things rarely turn out the way you expect. Let me tell you, with all the plans, hopes, dreams and goals I had for my life, it never occurred to me that I would still be alone after all these years.

30. People change over time
You probably did choose Love..But love dies if not fed properly..Sometimes even then.
Relationships are hell trust me I lost over 50lbs over one.
You can either try to recreate the love or you can leave and give the Misses the freedom to find someone who loves her.
And you to find someone you love..You never know..You may find each other again?
And yes love is Rocket Science..It shouldn't be but it is.
