I need to take a GD break. I am so depressed about the
state of our nation and the world.

3. I mentally checked out of GD over a year ago
Between the one-issue axe grinders screaming at each other and everyone else, the increasingly ridiculous purity tests, and those who go there for the sole purpose to argue, it just wasn't worth my time.

I still read kpete, NanceGreggs, and H2O Man's excellent posts, but very little else. And the Late Breaking News here is the best on the net.

Live your life and try to make a difference in your own little sphere; that's what works for me, and while I still have occasional moments of depression about what's going on I also realize that I'm of no use to my family and friends if I'm paralyzed by my own thoughts about how bad the world is now.

Just live your life, GPV. Love your friends and family, and try to make a difference in the world, even if it's something seemingly minor as holding the door for someone else or giving up your seat on the bus for the elderly. Making a difference in the world is never minor, ever.

Good luck

5. I took a week off of the news and DU
after the shaking and withdrawls wore off I had a great time. Then I freaked out with how much I missed.
I got a mental "reset" as it were.
