1. The best sandwich ever
Toasted whole wheat bread, cucumber dill hummus on one side, kalamata olive spread on the other, thinly sliced onion and radish, tomato and lettuce. And maybe a cup of tomato soup. Been planning it all day ;-)

28. Wahoo and pasta
wahoo, or ono, is a tuna-like (but far tastier) fish canned in American Samoa and occasionally (like last weekend) available in Hawai'i markets at a semi-reasonable price such as 2 for $3. (Who pays the regular retail of about $3 a can, about the same size as a can of tuna, I really couldn't tell you.)

Some pasta and another local find (also on special, of course), Maui onions, tossed with some olive oil (not EVOO!) and it's all set. Total preparation time, about a half-hour: 15 mins, or so to boil the water for the pasta, a couple to bring it back to boil, 11 mins. to cook it, with chopping done on the side. Ahhhhhhhhh.

34. easy chicken paprikash
Made by simmering a can of small diced tomatoes, a dollop of EVOO, some red bell pepper chunks and sliced onion, a clove of garlic and two tablespoons of Hungarian paprika, then adding two cups of cooked chicken chunks, finishing off with some sour cream.

Egg noodles to soak up the juices

Cauliflower doused with curried butter and roasted for an hour at 450 -- it was delish.

A salad of finely sliced red cabbage and thin slices of tart apple dressed with red wine vinegar, EVOO, and a good dash of Lawry's season salt.
