1. Cool.

our agave cactus, also known as the "century plant" is currently sending up a bloom stalk. They get incredibly big, sometimes as big as 20 or 30 FEET high. Pretty amazing. Every day it seems it's grown another foot.

My husband sees it as his own personal totem, lol. Talk about a phallic symbol!

11. I should take some pix of ours, too. It's fun to track the changes.

the last time this clump of agave bloomed, 4 yrs ago, it was the year of our 10 yr wedding anniv.
I took a big ole pix of it, in it's full phallic glory, and had it framed and matted. I presented it to MrShine and he loved it. After the stalk withered and died, we cut it away and it left this huge gaping hole in the agave cluster, so I came up with the brilliant idea of putting a statue there. Here's our Happy Buddha, with hair embellishment from ShineGirl.

:D Anyway, it's cool that it's blooming again this year.

I had my big solo in the choir concert on Saturday and it was a HUGE success, thanks for asking! I wasn't even nervous and I loved it! I got lots of support and loving adulation, so I'm still flyin' high...

Then, on Sunday I rode over 105 miles in a big organized century bike ride I'd signed up for a while ago. It was my longest and fastest century ride, ever, so I'm proud of myself. I did it in under 7 hrs and 10 min. with 6305 ft of climbing, too. I'm tired, but happy. Yes, it was definitely a Power Weekend.

13. OK creepy story

At our (me and H) old office we had a woody lot next to us....
One day we were looking at the fence on the property line and noticed a BLUE BUDDHA he was facing North
at the base of one of the trees. Now we had a salesmen who was from Taiwan and we thought he put it there for good luck.
But NO he had NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!!


So we left it ..... then after a while it was gone.
We still have no idea WHY it was ever there!!!

15. Hmmmm....I think that's a cool story, not creepy at all.

maybe the person who originally placed it there decided to keep it at their home, instead.

What's cool about our Buddha is that people will sometimes walk by and reach in to rub his belly (for good luck) or sometimes they'll leave little offerings, like flowers, or coins, or we even saw a sand dollar once. I like that. Good juju...:D
