The problem with Botox. (Nicole Kidman-inspired).
Edited on Wed May-23-07 01:07 AM by amitten
So there's a pic of Nicole Kidman now on Yahoo, and her forehead looks like she's Humpty Dumpty. As do the foreheads of countless other actresses, like that redhead on Desperate Housewives. Also, the brows have drooped closer than normal to the eyes. Hence, here is my Botox-weirdness theory:

The Botox paralyzes the muscles in the forehead...the ones responsible for wrinkles. However, the same muscles appear to do some important work in holding the forehead taut and compact. So, by relaxing all the forehead muscles, gravity takes over and the forehead (with the brows) is pulled downward, causing an elongated egg-shaped alien head.

I'll stick with the wrinkles when they come, thank you very much. :scared:

On edit: The pic was on Yahoo, not MSN. Sorry!

3. Yes. But her forehead is like twice the size it used to be.
Check out past vs. current photos and you'll see what I mean. She's got a fetus head.

6. SO are you saying it's from botox or maybe she had a too tight facelift

8. Not sure....maybe both. But the facelift should have lifted the
brows, and the brows are actually drooping lower over the lids. I do think it's from overly-relaxed muscles.

11. You know who I think has had too much work besides Michael Jackson

Joan Rivers. Her eyebrows seem to be an inch higher or something than they should be. Her face just looks so weird these days.

17. you want perfect skin? Remember Elaine Irwin Mellencamp?
she still models some, but that woman just had luminous, perfect, flawless, gorgeous skin. Made me more envious than anything else! I mean, my skin is fine, I never had terrible problems, but just didn't have that luscious, peaches-and-cream complexion.

2. What creeps me out the most
is that because the eyebrows don't move, there is little to no expression in the eyes.

Pod people, they look like. :scared:

4. Yeah. If the celebrities can't get this stuff done well, who can?
I can always tell when someone's had "something done". :scared:

It usually eliminates one problem but creates an even worse (and much stranger) one.

7. I don't think it's a question of having it done 'well'
in terms of 'expressionless eyes', anyway. As I recall, there are two muscles that control the eyebrows - one on each side, so it's not as if you could target some and leave others. It's all or nothing.

I know a couple of people who get botox shots for migraines - I wonder if they get them in the same area. It does wonders for the migraines, anyway.

5. Forgive me, but I cannot stand Nicole Kidman.
I refer to her as the Ice Princess. She's about as warm and cuddly as a block of ice!

9. I don't mind her. But her forehead is now a large shiny dome.
And she's got friends in that department...all over Hollywood.

20. Okay, now I'm really freaked out. Her forehead has gotten
WIDER, not longer. :wtf:

A sideways facelift, maybe? You can also see it in her brows and the shape of her eyes. It's like everything got stretched...sideways.

15. One of my favorite sites
is http://www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/archives/005432.html

Nicole Kidman has always had a sixhead, but it's complete immobility is REALLY unnerving. These are ACTORS, who use their facial expressions to conve feeling and add depth to roles. How they could ever agree t paralyze part of their moneymaker is beyond me.

Jessica Tandy was luminously beautiful up to the day she died, why can't young hollywood understand that?

16. I think that Botox and face lifts look too tight
Young women do not have tight face skin. Women my age, upper twenties, have a variety of facial looks but the ones that look best and yougner take care of their skin with moisturizers not skin tighteners.

I'm very fair, 35, 4 kids, crazy sleepless work schedule, and nary a wrinkle. I've been using sunscreen daily since I was 20. It helps a lot.

around my left eye. I have to squint to see it(but I know it's there).

I swear by drinking my allotment of water every single day.

23. I think eyebrows just fall as you get older. Same as your butt. I think
botoxless women are beautiful as they age. Getting older is wonderful. Those things all say wisdom. And wisdom is great.
