Except why I'm wasting gas driving out there. Even with current gas prices, my car gets decent mileage and it's cheaper than flying, and since I'm traveling with a lot of gear, I don't have to worry about checking some expensive-to-replace items.

5. That's actually one of the things I really like about AMTRAK

The last time I used it, the carry-on rule was: If you can carry it, it's carry-on. That may have changed though and I realize it might be a major pain to haul all your stuff to and from the bathroom and/or club car.
