Sometimes y' just gotta ask ... |
|
:wtf:
In April, we hired another new chica at the place I work part time. She's been in training for a month now, and still can't pull a 4 hour shift by herself. I trained for 10 days back in January before they turned me loose.
What the hell? Either have her work or replace her already!
JEEZ~!

1. Maybe she has a learning disability |
|
Why do you think it's difficult for her to get it?

... she's training with the office manager and another part time girl. All we do is switchboard and appointment setting with a really basic database. The manager said she's got the computer part of it down but that her phone skills are pretty rough.
How hard is it to learn how to say "Good evening", "How can I help you?' and "Thanks for calling" ?
It's killin' me because I haven't had a weekend off since March - in addition to my fulltime (Mon-Fri) hours at my other job!

3. While I believe that most anyone can eventually learn any skill |

this might be one of those times when you just say, "I think you're better suited for a different job."
Not everyone's a round peg.

4. Yep, that's sort of where I'm at with her, too ... |
|
It's just really not that hard to know how to answer a phone at a place of business. Common sense should dictate most of one's interactions, no?
Sigh.
:hi: ID !!! How are you ?!?

It was a pretty good day, despite rain again. I have a knack for picking the heaviest-raining part of the day to wander out and walk my errands. That's a good way to go through three sets of clothes per day.
And -- there's a package in the mail, on its way to you! (That was one of my errands.)

You walked in the rain to mail that to me? I am so honored!
Hope you're dried off, toasty warm and didn't catch the sniffles at all! O8)

sounds like an unfair deal to me.
sometimes people just aren't cut out to do the job and it takes a manager with some er, um, cajones, to do something about it.
Sounds to me like it puts you in an unfair position, pulling the extra work when she could or should be able to handle it.
I can think of different and unfair reasons that this would happen and I hope none of those are the case
you work hard enough as it is ya know! :loveya:
