Next season on "24" (spoiler)
Did anyone notice that we didn't see the fate of Phillip Bauer, Jack's father? When we last saw him, he was about to get into a boat.

Maybe he crawled into the boat, motored away, and was miraculously spared the burning debris?

Da-da-DUMMMM!

1. Someone brought that to my attention last night
However, I've also heard that they're losing the tyical "CTU gets threat, CTU has mole, CTU gets attacked, Jack Dies, Jack comes back to life, Jack breaks someone's fingers, President in Crisis, Jack saves world and President" angle and going with a retooling. Something more like Jack and his wits, instead of a fleet of satellites and PDAs at his disposal.

One can hope, anyway.

9. Or better yet . . . Kim returns . . . and then gets killed in some interesting way.
And then we know we'll never have to see her and her stupid subplots again. Maybe the mountain lion should actually EAT her this time.

Which means more angst for Jack. Yeah. It's perfect.

5. Hm, now THIS is interesting...
From Wikipedia:

According to a T.V. Guide interview with Coexecutive producer Manny Coto, "Jack starts next season in a very different place than any season so far. Let's put it this way: I wouldn't be surprised if there's no CTU next year." He also says that "There will not be a ticking clock on a nuclear device. We're hewing much closer to real life: tighter, more personal, more difficult for Jack. There may even be a plot thread that doesn't take place on U.S. soil. In a sense, it's a reboot — in location and personnel. We're going to be introducing a new stable of characters, along with a couple of old ones. Jack's not living under an alias. He's found a place he thinks he belongs and a job he enjoys doing that doesn't involve the government. What's also refreshing is the choice of villain: It's not a Muslim terrorist. In fact, it's not a terrorist at all. And the character is fascinating, someone with a supremely dark past who's done something horrific and whose ambition is to regain his stature in the world."

HMMmm...sounds like Jack's dad made it to China?

6. Well, we don't know what happened with Logan either
Last we saw of old Charles was him in an emergency vehicle with the flatline sound going off.

However, if Logan had really died don't you think that would have been announced at some point during a newscast?

My guess is that Logan or Farmer Hoggett aka Daddy Bauer reappears as a central plot device next year.

7. Doubt it.
I'm sure James Cromwell couldn't fit the show into his schedule for long, given his many movie appearances.

Just like how they killed off Sean Astin within the same season he was on the show.

13. I think you were supposed to be reassured by the Russian President mentioning
to VP Daniels that he hoped Pres. Palmer recovered soon. That was their little reference to Wayne and the fact that he's not dead. Logan on the other hand...

11. If Phillip Bauer got away then so did that sub-circuit thingamajig.
I couldn't figure out why Jack didn't demand it from him. And how did the US military scanning the oil rig to make sure it was destroyed NOT notice a helicopter taking off with people inside? Wouldn't that cast some doubt as to whether or not the sub-circuit thing was destroyed?

17. Yeah, you'd think the F/A-18's would have taken out
the chopper with cannon fire, just to be sure.
