86. No, not at all. Not a southerner by any stretch of the imagination.
And oddly enough, I live in a city - but I'm on the edge of a little marshland and rain drainage area. My yard is like a mini-zoo habitat area in the midst of urbanness. It's cool.

No woodpecker here at home, but we did have one on the office's property last year that I heard a lot. I'm curious if he'll come back this year.

The peppers seem healthy enough, but they haven't grown nearly as much. I'm thinking I'll get them some sort of fertilizer today.

The gardenia I put in in the front yard is growing like crazy and in bloom.

2 of the four bull calves broke down the gate and got into the pasture. And one of them charged the fence and got through. I saw him running through the field behind my house.

Until the landlord and her kids got here, I was trying to keep him from bolting across the road and getting himself or someone else killed.

40. Hey everybody! Wild Turkey at wildhorses' place tonight! Woo Hoo!
Wasn't that what you meant?

We have at least one resident pair of CA quails each year. Some years we see their babies -- tiny little brown dust balls following them. We've had a few wild turkeys wander into the yard but never with babies.

The night time is full of skunks and raccoons and hunting domestic cats. The deer only visit the front yard because they can't be bothered to jump our fence.

It is scary, almost Science Fiction worth, when they fly.....
All 15 were in my yard one day, the dogs got out and spooked them and they all took flight.....

gave me the creeps

Ours come out usually in Oct... Funny thing is they disappear right around Thanksgiving......

they hang out at the pond directly beside the property. As do quite a few geese, who poop all over my windshield every single day. :hi:

91.
:headbang: I'd be so pleased with turkeys!
The wildest we get is possums on the deck sometimes eating what the squirrels left. I love those possums but someday I want out of the subburb.

99. Deer, possum, raccoons, wild turkeys,
quail, pheasant, eastern bluebirds, ladder-back woodpecker,red-tailed hawks, bald eagles, herons, lots of other birds, skunk, snakes, tortoises, fox, frogs, toads and the assorted pets of mine or the neighbors.

Been seeing way too many of these out of the back window and they are flying way to close to the house these days too.

They play over the woods.
