folk remedy for nausea?
I don't have time for this today :( Anyone have a sure-fire way to get rid of nausea? No clue why I feel this way but have for about 18 hours now.

8. when we were kids our mom
always gave us 7-up/ginger ale/cheese/bread for stomach complaints.

that was back in those day when they put iodine and other burny shit on cuts otherwise we'd get "blood poisoning"

11. my sister actually had blood poisoning
from playing in the sandbox. It was sorta scary. I head that Johnny Depp's daughter almost died of it recently.

18. we presume it was the sandbox
because she had cut her finger when playing in it and the finger got all all red and warm to the touch with a black streak running up her arm.

25. Second to Whoa Nelly. I've been drinking it throughout my European escapade...
for jet lag, general indigestion from different foods and drinks, etc.

Excellent suggestion.

10. Flat Ginger Ale
Flat ginger ale usually works for me and a friend told me that a few sips of the juice from a jar of olives settles a nauseous stomach as well. I won't try that one though, because I detest olives.

Good luck!

23. Don't panic, that doesn't mean it won't work- honest.
My mom always uses 7-up for upset stomach, and there's certainly no ginger in that.
Always works for her- A couple burps and she feels much better.

Her theory is that it's actually the carbonation that is helping,
but the heavy, syrupy quality of non-clear soft drinks somehow
interferes with its medicinal effect.

Hope you feel better!

20. I've heard sniffing lemons works, and cola syrup.
Edited on Thu May-24-07 01:14 PM by LoZoccolo
I've even seen little bottles of the cola syrup at Walgreen's, so you don't have to try to track down a big gallon of it from a bottler or something.

But if you've had it for that long I might see a doctor.

26. fresh ginger, camomile, and mint are all good for stomach problems.
if it's food related, try an antacid or even some plain bread.

those all have worked for me in the past.

Nothing heavy, but a small glass of flat ginger ale and a couple of ginger snaps should settle you down nicely. :)

I've known several that swear by acupressure. Here's a link http://www.morningsicknesshelp.com/biobands.html

you don't necessarily need the bands, you should be able to apply the pressure with the instructions. Feel better soon. :hi:

What every pregnant woman keeps on hand when she has morning sickness. Nibble a few of those - the saltiness really does help.
