Ow, Ow, Ow... These new fillings hurt...
I had to get fillings today.

I got the resin fillings this time.

Dammit, I don't recall the amalgam ones hurting like these.

1. That doesn't sound right.
I don't think fillings should hurt?

2. Did you get an antibiotic?
It shouldn't hurt. You might ask your dentist for a prescription. Taking care of it now could eliminate the need for more dental work...

3. I have to go back on Monday to take care of a couple of cavities on the other side.
Besides, I'm very leary of asking for ABs unless there's proof positive that there is an infection.

Overprescription of ABs is a major problem.

4. Still, you should tell your dentist about the pain.
It shouldn't hurt.

5. Fillings shouldn't hurt. Really.
Did the dentist give you a reason why they would in your case?

6. Tell the dentist about it. DO NOT get mercury fillings. They are poisonous.

7. I got the resin fillings this time around.
I didn't like the way my amalgam fillings were conducting heat and cold.

8. They weren't a replacement of the amalgam ones were they??
I had some resin fillings put in once to replace some old decaying amalgam fillings and they reacted with each other and caused horrible pain. I ended up having to have them all taken out and the amalgam ones put back in. I was NOT pleased.

9. No, these were new fillings.
I will admit that these resin fillings don't feel as wierd in my mouth as the amalgam ones did.

10. It Shouldn't Hurt
:wtf:

I had a resin filling done in March and it was fine. I also had old mercury fillings replaced three years ago with resin. Seriously, there should be no pain. See your dentist ASAP.
