Before the final installment of the LOTR, I would have shuddered at the thought of an attempt to do Evangelion as a live-action picture. However, I agree with you, WETA is certainly qualified and I believe they could actually do it justice.

but based on these designs, and knowing what WETA can accomplish, I'd say it's damn near orjasmic. I can hardly wait.

I've been exposed to far too many Evangelionicals and I'm tired of it.

What about Battle Angel Alita? or Haibane Renmei? or Witch Hunter Robin?

9. IIRC

James Cameron has the rights to Battle Angel tied up. Or it might be Speilberg. I can't remember who has the rights, but they've had them for years now and nothing has been done with it.
