I've been in Des Moines today with the Kerry campaign
just realized tonight that I had internet access in my room. It's been a real trip here today and this is my first experience with a campaign. I'm pooped.

I'm new here and was told to introduce myself in the lounge. I think I'm too tired tonight. I have a long day tomorrow.

I've been reading here for several months and learning more and more. DU made me more interested in what is going on with my country.

I live in the midwest and came to Des Moines for the weekend with some friends that are working for the Kerry campaign. I'm a single female working on my Masters Degree.

I've grown to recognize some names and look forward to participating in discussions. Tonight I'm just going to chill out after my hot bath with a few beers before I hit the sack though. I get to sleep late tomorrow.

2. Thank you for the welcome
I'm fairly new to politics and learning a lot. I've never been impressed with politicians but I've been very dismayed with the state of affairs since Bush took office. But I want to shill for tonight. It's been a fun day and a very interesting one here in caucus town.

Thanks.

6. Welcome to DU, ScholarSeeker!
I am in much the same position that you are, recently come to a point of political awareness. I am excited for you being in the midst of the action there. I live in New York and all will be decided when the candidates, if any are left, will ever come to campaign here. I am a Kucinich supporter, but also like Gephardt. I like what Kerry has had to say. I am one of those "anybody but Bush* in 2004" supporters. I wish you luck and a lot of fun in this important campaign. Get some rest. It sounds like you have had a long day.:-)
