Isn't great when you come to a time in your life when you can answer |
|
questions correctly at the drop of a hat...
Where you know your profession or your passion so well, so intricately that you can actually help someone just by talking to them...
That's one of the bonuses of gaining wisdom...
Unfortunately, so many people are tied to the youth culture that when they do attain that sureness of mind they can' seem to enjoy it just because the body may not have kept pace...
Perhaps that is why so many men have throw a "mid-life" crisis hissy fit...
They can't recognize the experience and knowledge as an asset if they can't find a way to use their assets...
Oh well...
I'm just lucky, I guess...

1. Luck, my dear WC, has nothing to do with this... |
|
Not in your case, anyhow...
You have a first-rate mind encased in a similar brain...
And you have been busy your whole life studying and absorbing all sorts of things...
Now it's paying off, as indeed it should!
I know a smart man when I meet one...and you fit that bill down to your toenails!
Your knowledge and your ability to communicate it will take you far...
Your best days are ahead...

I mentor people at work. I help people learn how to fish. It's very rewarding to finally be in a position to teach those who want to learn.

4. I had an enjoyable evening with a young man who is very talented... |
|
Far more talented that I am and he asked for my advice on how to get at an idea he had for a book...
I think I was able to give him the perspective that he needed in order to think outside the box...
And it was just becuase I have been around and read a lot of great books...

5. I helped a kid learn a big fishing lesson tonight |
|
His dad instructed him to sparingly use his worms so he didn't waste them. I threw a whole worm on my hook and he pointed out to me that the little fish would immediately rip it off. I told him that the big fish like dangly things and the if the worm was hooked correctly the little fish couldn't tear it off. And with that I cast and immediately got a big strike and wound up landing a lunker largemouth bass. I now have a new ten year old admirer.
