I asked my husband if he ever thought of buying a motorcycle
He looked at me and said, "What is going on?" And, then...
then he started laughing at me.

So much for my cheerful mood today.

2. Perhaps
I hope your husband's foot heals soon...what, exactly, happened (if you don't mind me asking)?

23. he's very experienced x30 yrs.
we have garage full of bikes. The last one is very heavy and when stopped difficult to hold up. Crushed hand and now foot. Our partner has 9 pins in leg from the same. Have a bike club and travel to every event (were in lockdown at Laughlin shootout) If you own a bike...you're going to go down. Have gone down self x3. That's just the reality of it.

5. Thanks
I don't think that's how I'll die. I've done much more dangerous things than ride a bike!

10. I'm afraid to ask, but what could be more dangerous?
I'm not trying to be funny, honestly curious.

 :hi:

15. Me, too. Damn lucky. I laid it down under the car that pulled out in front of me,
and ended up on my feet without a scratch on me. They cold have used that for a training video.

But I figured that I'd used up ALL of my "motorcycle luck" right there, and have not been on one since.

8. I have a friend who bought her first Motorcycle at 45
She got her husband into riding as well, they both love it, and so far are injury free after 6 years.
The go down the Pacific coast, all kinds of road trips. One thing though-- she did a lot of research on what she wanted, and what she was capable of handling.

(Yes, she dropped her bike a couple of times, everyone does sooner or later, growing pains)

This is what I had envisioned, maybe. But, I don't know.

Anyway, it's good to hear a good story about it! :-)

14. Hey read this...
My MIL forbid my FIL from getting a motorcycle for over 30 yrs. Then one day he went out and bought one. My MIL named it "B****". Sometimes it is funny to hear her talk about it, almost like it was another woman instead of a machine.

17. I've ridden since I was a kid, so have been a "slave" to bikes...
Never thought of calling it by a name like that :)

18. I asked my husband the exact same question
a few years ago. We ended up w/a Harley. I think we went through a mid-life crisis at the same time. I'm sorry your husband laughed at your question. I hope you find your own way to get your cheerful mood back.

19. My husband almost died from a crash
I told him to get back on the horse. We spent a lot repairing that thing. He loves riding and I'll be damned if I stop him. We all have our joys. That is his and I'm not stopping it.

21. I agree with you -
my husband becomes a free spirit when he's on his bike. I will not deny him of that. Most of the time I feel he's safer on that bike than he is at his job.

22. are you thinking of getting one for yourself?
my husband used to ride motocross, he has a big scrap book of newspaper clippings and every now nd then when he's actually home and he see's my neighbor's bike i can see the envy in his eyes. I asked him if he wanted one but so far no go.
