Poll question: Should I go to best buy today?
I had gone in on Friday, and I checked w/customer service about their extended warranty policy. I told them my scanner situation and they said, because the scanner is under a year old, and also because I'm a frequent custoemr, that they'd do the paperwork in the store. Normally everything has to be packaged and mailed in.

I was sceptical as, back in July, the old scanner I had went bad and I'd gone to a different location. They said I had to mail it in. (which was angering at the time because Best Buy, when offering this warranty, always says that we can just bring the product in to the store... I tend to go by what the blue shirt says, not what the paper says because the blue shirt should be telling the exact same story as the paper.)

I asked if he would be in today, and he said he wouldn't but the other guy would be. He told my situation to the other guy, who seemed to be rushed.

Should I go in? Their store is 18 miles away.

Thanks y'all!

1. they seem to be very good with returns
i had problems with my ati all in wonder video card i bought there 18 months ago, they replaced it and upgraded it to the 9800 pro version, for free.

so, 2 weeks ago i bought my new pc from them too after spending an hour discussing with 3 of their service guys on what i wanted to do with my pc.

get to know their pc service personnel and they will give you great free advice that would take years to learn on your own.

2. I've been there a lot lately since there is now one about a mile away
Generally the staff there seems pretty cool, but I wanted to buy a CD player for my car and I never seem to be able to schedule a convenient time to have it installed. I just don't want to sit around there all day. The one near me has a better CD music selection than I expected. Although I think it is better to buy music from a small independent. For those of us who still buy music in a store.
