I'm reading these really long threads, and don't know if there are new posts in the middle of the thing, with out looking at the post number, and it's easy to miss.
Soooo, I thought, what if the DU board kept track of all the posts to a thread you had at least had a chance to see before, and any new ones would be bolded, a different color or something, so you could quickly get to the new posts.

1. Yeah, I've wanted something like this too... It's awfully hard to find |
|
new post number 188 buried somewhere in the thread. But, you really need to post this suggestion in the "ask the administrators" forum so that skinner will see it.

2. That's what the icon "mark" does. |
|
It's at the top of the forum pages with the other stuff. Click mark before you leave a forum, when you come back there is a color difference in the new posts, old posts. I still forget to use it. :)

4. Ah, dang. Not exactly what I was hoping for |
|
It does show me which thread had a new post made to them in the thread list, but once I'm in the thread, the new post isn't flaming by itself.

6. Ok, now I see how it works. |
|
I just wish it was automatic, for every thread, each time I requested it with my user name.
Thanks Lars39!

Glad you figured it out! I've been on other sites that had a *last post* button by each thread and that was very helpful. I think DU moves much too fast for that, though. I can tell it's time to post my "lars" disclaimer: I'm a she. ;-) :hi:

8. Ooops. Sorry about that. BTW, I'm a he. |
|
I know a real person named Lars, and he's a he, so I just jumped to conclusions.
