I can't receive Vonage calls. Weird
I have a friend that lives in Texas and we talk almost every night. She has Vonage because of the low cost for long distance and she makes a lot of long distance calls because she lives in bumfuck, Texas.

Sunday night we were on the phone and she got another call so she switched over. When she returned there was some nasty interference, so bad I couldn't understand her. She called back and it was still there. She called my cell from that phone and it worked fine, I called her from my land line and it worked fine and I called her from my cell and it worked fine.

Yesterday she tried to call and it was still there. I received a few calls in that time and my phone was fine. She called Vonage and they tried to call my house and the interference was there, they then did a three-way call with her, them and me and it was just as bad (they called from a Vonage line).

So it seems that maybe my phone company isn't taking Vonage calls or something. Anyone ever have anything like this?

1. I've got Vonage and haven't had this happen
and I make a fair amount of long distance calls, because my mother lives in another area code (I talk to her at least once a day). I've never heard of this before. Has she tried calling Vonage customer service about this? It could be something with your land line carrier if it's the only place it's happening....

3. Yeah, she called twice
The first time they called me and I didn't know it was them so I didn't pick it up, but the answering machine did. They got the static. Then she called last night and they called me, I picked up this time and the static was still there. I am thinking it is my phone carrier that is messing up.

2. Give this test a shot. It comes back pretty detailed. Might offer some insight.

4. Thanks
I don't have Vonage, but I'll have her check it out.
