1. No, I haven't, but I want to. The preview looked great and the critics seem to like it.

5. Yes, saw it this last Sunday. Thought it was excellent!
It was more of a "chick flick" than what I would normally see, given the characters and plot. However, I had not read a single bad review about the film. There was a good and believable story line and an excellent cast. Sorry, I'm not going to give out the spoilers. I give Kerri Russel a definite thumbs up.

I also was curious about the film because of the story surrounding the movie. The film was written and directed by Adrienne Shelly who also plays a major part in the movie. Adrienne Shelly was murdered in New York City with in the last year. Very sad, just as she was on the verge of what could have been major success someone denied it to her. She definitely had acting and writing talent.

"The Waitress" would be a good date film. Although, I would not make a first-date film.

Enjoy!!

9. thanks for the feedback. . . . . . but, not first date?
Technically, this is a first date. We've been friends for years and have been, um, "seeing one another" for a few weeks now, ever since we were just hanging out together talking one night and then--to our mutual surprise--found ourselves, um, no longer talking. Would it still not work, do you think?

I'm aware of the Adrienne Shelly tragedy. Such a shame.

12. Well, if you've known each other for years
That may be a little different. When I was watching the movie, I wondered if this would be a good flick for a first date. There are themes of bad marriages, jealous/controlling husbands, extra-marital affairs, among other things written into the movie story. It's just that when I was watching it I was enjoying it but I kind of winced at the idea of a first-date flick given some the not-so-happy parts of the movie. To me an ideal first-date is a feel-good flick, you know "Pretty Woman" types of movies.

Could be I read to much into it, which would explain why I am not dating anyone right now.

I still give the film high recommendation, a good story with plenty of laughs.

7. I have not seen it.
And yet, I can't help but think I've already seen it a million times before.

10. It's a dumb movie...even for a chick flick. I saw it with a friend who
is a sucker for even the cheesiest chick flick, and she hated it.

"That was stupid," she said.

(Also, it's full of sexual innuendos so maybe better for a second or third date.)

13. Did we see the same movie?
The impression I came away with was of the characters' quirks, the whole question of finding happiness, and the feminism with a twist.

Oh, and Andy Griffith was a hoot as a very un-Andy Taylor-like curmudgeon.
