It's finally official! I'm so proud of my son! |
|
I am now a Mother of a Teacher! And I'm going to buy a tee-shirt with that on it, and I'm going to wear it everywhere! :)
My son finally got his teaching certificate! It has been one hell of a rocky road.... but worth it if he can find a teaching position!

just saw this femmocrat!
congrats, that is great!
:woohoo:
I'm sure he will find a teaching position. Even ones with better pay and that will forgive his loans if he has them if he goes to an underserved area
:applause:

 You are such a sweetheart for noticing and saving me from the depths of sunken-thread loserdom!
Yup... he's gonna make a fine teacher! It is so gratifying to see your child who has struggled finally "make it". There is nothing better.
:D (Beaming with pride here!)

PA... secondary English. The PA certification process is really grueling now. Way tougher than when I got my certification 30 years ago! I guess we can "thank" (?) NCLB for all the additional hoops they have to jump through to get certified.
(PS... do you know of any openings in western PA?) ;-)

My husband just got his PhD in March. It was a very long haul, but Yay!! he did it.
It's a good feeling to watch someone accomplish something they have been working very hard towards.

The PhD route is incredibly demanding. I really admire anyone who can accomplish that program. It must have been a huge relief to you both when he finished. I hope it helps him in his career, too!

16. He wants to be a professor and teach University level |
|
students. But first, we are taking a side research trip to the Czech Republic this fall.
The PhD isn't for everyone. He said if he had it to do over again that he probably wouldn't have. I'm beyond proud of him. I just hate the thought of student loan bills!! :scared:

Love the idea for your t-shirt. Good luck to your son on finding
a job. I taught for forty years...K thru HS math. Loved almost every
minute. Our country needs more good educators.
