Poll question: State of the Union Drinking Game: Your Picks, 2004
Yep. That time again. Tuesday night, if I'm correct.

Pick your words and phrases... and behave as if, like me, you want a winner -- you want to get tanked. :)

1. I think he'll focus on the economy.
They've fudged the numbers so well by now that most people don't realize they're jobs are in jeopardy.

Just today the papers reported that the Electrolux plant in Michigan was closing - 2700 jobs in a town of 8000.

But, the stock market is up up UP!

2. Definately the economy.
* will be standing before the cameras urging all good Murkins to look out their windows and if they don't see a new car out there they must not be working hard enough.

13. You could just increase your chances...
and just drink to all of those choices, you're bound to get pissed* by the end of the speech.

(* I'm not of British descent, I'm just fond of that slang for getting drunk. But you could use both meanings of the word in this case for sure :toast:)

31. Ha! You fell for my little scheme!!
What you don't know is that I've been spending the past three years working on a plan to get him to say "Robb is a Dingbat" in the 2004 SOTU address, all with the belief that someone (read: LynneSin) would make a challenge just like that!! (Mostly, the plan involves a lot of cocaine and a digital camera, but we won't go into it.)

Ha ha!! Ha ha ha!! MWA HA HA HA HA HA!!!

11. Saddam Hussein = Al-Qaeda/9-11
3 sips everytime Bush conflates the two.

Funny you should bring up drinking and SOTU ... last year the address fell on my 21st birthday ... I should hope that even here it would go without saying that I wasn't watching.

This year, however, I don't have an excuse and will probably have to watch.

18. Do obnoxious smirks and used-car-salesman smiles count for anything?
Other than that, I'd go with some combo of how "we're safer now" or "more secure now" or "more tax cuts" crap.

Actually, the entire speech and the reality of who's giving it makes me want to crawl inside some bottle, and I'm not even that much of a drinker.

26. Every time Bush pauses take a drink
When he listens in his earpiece for more words to his speech take a drink. By the time he is finished you will be so drunk that you will pass out.

28. What percentage of congress (by party) will give
Bush* standing ovation?

All of them some of the time, some of them all of the time?

my bet is on ALL the Repubs ALL of the time and some of the Dems some of the time --- and there will be big "gaps" in the applause with only most of the Dems not clapping or standing
