A really, really stupid caption.
I posted this picture of me and me mates at the POTC premier on Myspace with the caption, "I'm Yo Ho." Ouch--didn't realize exactly what I said until it had been in my slideshow for quite some time.

We were there harassing/entertaining the gentry waiting in line.

1. Funny!
Did any guy come on to you thinking you meant the other meaning of what you wrote?
You look like a fun group.

22. Aye, mate, here's a song fer ye.
YOU CAN'T BE A PIRATE
(Don Freed)
Midi file of just the melody at:
http://www.mudcat.org/midi/midifiles/pirate.mid

Being a pirate is all fun and games,
'Til somebody loses an ear.
It drips down your neck, and it falls on the deck,
'Til someone shouts, "Oy, what's this 'ere?"
You can't wear your glasses, you can't poll the lasses,
Your friends have to shout so you'll hear;
Being a pirate is all fun and games,
'Til somebody loses an ear.

Chorus:
It's all part of being a pirate (a pirate, a pirate);
You can't be a pirate with all of your parts.
Oh, it's all part of being a pirate (a pirate, a pirate);
You can't be a pirate with all of your parts.

Being a pirate is all fun and games,
'Til somebody loses an eye.
It stings like the blazes, it makes you pull faces,
You can't let your mates see you cry.
A dashing black patch will cover the hatch
And make sure that the socket stays dry;
Being a pirate is all fun and games
'Til somebody loses an eye.

(chorus)

Being a pirate is all fun and games
'Til somebody loses a hand.
It spurts and it squirts and it jolly well hurts,
Pain only a pirate could stand.
The fash'nable look is a nice metal hook,
But now you can't play in the band.
Being a pirate is all fun and games,
'Til somebody loses a hand.

(chorus)

Being a pirate is all fun and games,
'Til somebody loses a leg.
It hurts like the dickens, your pace never quickens,
Hopping around on a peg.
Ask your sweetheart to marry, but too long you've tarried,
'Cause now you can't kneel down and beg.
Being a pirate is all fun and games
'Til somebody loses a leg.

(chorus)

There's another verse about losing a "whatsit," but we'll not be goin' into that here.

2. That's it. I'm cutting grog rations!
The floggings will continue as scheduled until morale improves.

(Great pic, btw. Looks like a great bunch to hang out with!)

3. It was lots of fun.
There were a lot more pirates there than those pictured. You'll notice that the other "Yo Ho" and "Life" had wandered off to pillage and plunder elsewhere. Ah, well, what can ye expect o' a bunch o' scurvey sea dogs?

5. I wondered if a sign was missing there.
But then, that actually seems like even MORE fun to me;
I would love to have seen people's faces when they
encountered the lone pirate wandering around with the
sign that simply said "life". :rofl: :wtf: :rofl:

(Of course, it should be mentioned that one of the basic
tenets of my personal philosophy is, "Everything is
much more interesting when you don't QUITE know what's
going on
". Your mileage may vary.)

My friend visited her sister in Washington, DC, several years ago and went to a ren faire that she said was fantastic. Would that be your RennFest?

16. ACH! Singularity Alert! Event horizon dead ahead, Cap'n!
That pic has my sense of humor eating its own tail.

I need to forget I ever saw that QUICKLY, before my brain
collapses into a white dwarf, and I end my days wandering
the streets in my PJs carring a "Cheney '08" sign.

18. Hiya, realisticphish. Long time no see!
I have a post-it note here on my monitor
that says, "realisticphish-pie", so here
you go:

I must have written that awhile ago, because
I don't remember why I did it. But it was important
enough that I wrote it down as a reminder, obviously.

You know what they say: "A mind is a terrible thing".

I was surprised how easy it was to get to; I came from Clackamas after work with no traffic snarls at all.
