So last night I started my one-woman campaign on why Paris Hilton is better than Michael Vick
One cashier at a time.

It was unintentional - I bought a Harper's Bazaar, which had Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie on the cover with their dogs, and the cashier said something about Paris going to jail.

I said, "well, she's better than that pro football player who's involved in DOG FIGHTING". She and the bagger both pricked up their ears and asked who it was, and I said, loudly, "Michael Vick. He's the quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons and he's involved in DOG FIGHTING". They were both shocked and forgot all about Paris.

3. Driving drunk is "better"?
To me they're both just horribly bad.

4. I do not support drunk driving. Don't get me wrong.
I think Paris should get a driver.

I think in the big scheme of things, though, she is a better person than Michael Vick.

5. I didn't think you did
But to me it's like saying Chimp is "better" than Cheney.

Although I applaud your efforts to bring Michael Vick's actions to light.

6. Yes, that was really the point.
Although from what I heard, Paris' driving was more slow and erratic than fast and dangerous. Though I still think it's strange. Why don't rich people take cabs or get drivers? I don't drive at all after I drink and I am not rich.

7. From Wikipedia:
On February 27, 2007 Hilton was caught driving 70 MPH in a 35 MPH zone with a suspended license. She also did not have her headlights on, even though it was after dark.

Stupid spoiled b**** doesn't think that "suspended license" applies to her.

8. HOLY CRAP!
that's terrible.

I still don't understand (and it's not just her) why celebrities drive themselves around.

You know, years ago, Matthew Broderick killed someone in Ireland and I don't think he did any jail time at all.

10. Huh. Hadn't heard about that
So I looked it up. It's unclear how much he was at fault:

In 1987, Broderick was involved in a multi-car collision while driving in Ireland with Grey (his fiancée at the time). The collision killed a woman and her daughter. Broderick (who fractured his leg and a rib) was cleared of all charges but paid a fee of $175 to the victims' family. Drinking was not involved in the crash. Martin Doherty, the elder victim's son, was quoted by Bill Hoffman in 2002 saying "I would like to reassure him that there are no bad feelings from us."

Broderick was charged with reckless driving and paid a small fine.

But I'm with you about celebrities driving. Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton can certainly afford a chauffeur 24/7.

11. As I understood it, he was driving the wrong way on the road.
I really don't think that $175 is enough of a fine.

9. Paris Hilton never scored on the Saints, either
so this is kind of a no-brainer, so to speak. :-)

Here's hoping all the stadia where the Falcons play road games this year crank up "Who Let The Dogs Out?" every time the douchebag steps on the field!

13. This really upset my HS football player son
"We don't like Michael Vick anymore" he yelled while passing through the kitchen yesterday.
