Poll question: Do you prefer bare floors or carpet? |
|
I am thinking about pulling up the carpet in my bedroom...I really dislike carpet but my rabbit really likes it and I know if I put a throw rug down he will shred it. I know carpet is supposed to be warmer in the winter time, it's only gotten cold enough once that I could tell a difference though, but my older relatives are carpet-junkies because of the days before central heat. I'd love to have only wood floor or linoleum in my whole house, but I'm afraid I'll regret pulling up the carpet once I get it done.

I vote carpet, just not the kind they had in the 80's.

Both have their place......
But for bedrooms, I prefer carpet. It's just nicer on my tender bare feet!
Our dining room, living room and kitchen, plus all our bathrooms aare bare floors....
It's just easier to keep those spaces clean....

4. bare floors are much easier to keep clean, carpet is dirty |
|
especially with a critter around. Carpet also wears poorly if you want to resell the place. I've had both, I have carpet now, but I want wood floors and a few rugs for comfort.

but my rabbit stays under my bed on the carpet practically all day long, comes out to eat and do his business in his cage. He goes out on the porch some but the carpet is like his habitat.
The reason I don't like carpet is because if you get fleas it's hard to get rid of them, and I hate vacuuming, I'd rather mop any day. I mean, I clean a church once a week where I have to vaccum an entire red-carpeted sanctuary and pews, so I like carpet even less than I used to.

Except for the odd throw rug in the foyers in winter. My entire house is either hardwood floors or ceramic tile. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I have allergies and it is a hell of a lot easier to clean hardwood floors
and throw rugs are good
it's a matter of preference though

I tried hard wood floors and I just don't clean enough...they got too dusty so I put back in carpet.
