So I took Harry Dog to the vet today.
He is old. 14 and a half. And other than having a bunch of old dog problems, like being deaf, having arthritis, a thyroid problem, and being a little picky about food, he is just fine. Way, way past his life expectancy, if he were a person, he'd be like someone who has won the lottery 3-4 times.

1. i have an old girl like that. Miss Sue Z.
she's 14 which is quite old for a herding breed, she's deaf and has bad cataracts, her back legs fall asleep when she lays down too long, but I think she's still enjoying life a lot.

maybe more, now that she's 'retired' It was amazing to watch her teach the young girl how to patrol the perimeter and be on alert for strangers. Sue Z. just lets the youngster take care of business while she relaxes in the sun.

I'm glad she's stayed with us so long and so glad your Harry Dog is doing well too

:toast: <------- to old dogs

2. Border collie?

My last dog was a border collie. This one is more of a leisure dog (I guess they call them non-working dogs) the ones that warm the couch.

I also have a Border and a Sheltie. The Sheltie has taken over guard duty

here's a pic of them, ignore the crazy lady in the photos with them (this was about 4 years ago though)

4. My brother has a Harry Dog 15+ years old
He's a cocker spaniel my brother found as a stray in pitiful shape. Now he has an enlarged heart, so he sleeps a lot, but he is as sweet as he ever was.
