Any Real Estate Appraisers in the House? |
|
Long story, but I've just applied for a job as a property appraiser for my county's assessor's office. They are not requiring an appraiser's license to be hired, but if hired, I would have to get a license within one year.
I have been invited to take a county exam next week, not an appraiser's exam per se, but an exam given by the county, probably to weed out the really stupid applicants...LOL. I have been told to expect some math. Could any of you give me some heads up as to what kinds of math to brush up on? I imagine there will be some questions about appreciation and depreciation, as well as some geometry. If you could give me an idea of what to study up on, I'd be very grateful.
I would REALLY like this job!

1. Call them and ask.. See if they have a sample test. |
|
When I applied with the IBEW for a job as an electrician they gave me a sample test. It was basic algebra like 47 = x^2 - 43 ... But I would check up and ask.. Use a fake name if you are embarrassed.

2. That's not a bad idea, although I think... |
|
they would have sent that information if one were available.
I currently work for the USPS, and they send us sample problems.
I'll call tomorrow, thanks for the idea!

4. Google california test appraisers |
|
and all sorts of practice tests and info come up
Good luck! :hi:
PS Would definitely brush up on probability, ratio and percentages. The CBEST practice tests online can help. Just Google CBEST. (CBEST = California Basic Education Skills Test)
