Truck versus BMW
Edited on Thu May-31-07 12:22 PM by billyskank
I think the truck won. Scene on my walk back from the railway station...

Somebody is having worse fortune than me on the roads, it seems. ;)

3. Hey you!

WTF indeed! :D

The plan was to pick up mine on saturday morning, but... they rang me this afternoon to say they had taken it out for a test drive (which is good, means they must be finished) but the airbag warning light was lit on the dash. So the car's computer thinks something is wrong with the airbag.

The panel shop may or may not be able to fix that, and if they can't it will have to go to the dealer for repair instead. If that happens they are going to try to fix me up with a courtesy car, since I finally got them to agree on a date...

:hi: :loveya:

4. I don't think so
That was on an intersection, I doubt anybody would park there. I didn't see the accident, but my best guess is the truck was turning left, and had left himself a gap so he could swing his rig round the corner. Meanwhile the BMW perhaps thought the truck was turning right and sneaked into the gap, only to be left between a rock and a hard place when the truck started its manoevre.

Even so that's a bit implausible...I'll never know for sure. But if the car was parked, that would be an incredible misjudgement on the part of the truck driver.

5. I saw something like that a couple years ago
a lady in a Mercedes thought she could push her way in front of a truck, as the road narrowed from two lanes to one for construction. The truck couldnt see her, and she ended up with tire marks and scratches all over the driver's side door. At least the traffic was going slow at that point.

7. The moral surely must be:
don't mess with trucks. Even when they're in the wrong. :)
