I just found out our old neighbor died. |
|
I hadn't seen these neighbors in a good many years (my parents sold my childhood home in 1992, when I was 26), but they lived next door to us my entire childhood and young adulthood. His son was a grade behind me in school, and his daughter was born the same day as my sister - they were best friends.
It's hard to think of people who were institutions in my childhood - my friends parents, my parents' friends - passing away. For pete's sake, I remember when this man's father lived with the family 30+ years ago.

These reminders often come as a shock, don't they?
Time goes on indeed, even though we might think otherwise...
My deepest condolences....

A few years ago my childhood neighbor died. It was sad because he was like a Dad to me and that made me think of the mortality of my own Dad. :(
