Today I am a thankful woman.
My husband's company is FINALLY going to do direct-deposit..<happy-happy dance>

No more wondering just WHEN he's gonna deposit that check..or if it's lost in his briefcase again (one check rattled around in there for 2 weeks before he got around to depositing it.

When I have offered to do it for him, he says ..":Hey I drive right by the bank ..I'll do it "..hah!

The fastest it's ever deposited, is when he's on vacation, and his secretary deposits it for us :)

1. hmmmm....are you sure we aren't married to the same man
cuz my husband can walk around with a check for a month without giving it to me to deposit...he doesn't even know what the bank is..

without direct deposit we would be living on the street...

2. My husband thinks the ATM only gives out $200 a pop
and he loves to save those little slips and test my heart health when he hands them to me :)

(now I bank online, so I can keep up with his "habit" )

3. It's also great if you happen to take the day off on payday!
Once we had a power outage at work and I had to come all the way downtown anyway to stand in line and pick up my pay check. Have had direct deposit ever since!!!

4. I finally took my SO's checkbook away
In such a way that he thought it might have been his idea, of course. :P

We have separate accounts but I got so sick of him running up overdraft charges - he had three in one week! We don't make enough money for that silly crap.

So I finally wore him down and have him trained to hand me all his receipts (he's good about depositing) and he'll actually call me up to ask, "Do I have enough money to stop for lunch?"

That would bother him except for the fact that in the year since I took over his finances, he's had no overdraft charges, his credit cards are all paid down, he's never late on a bill and he has more money in savings.

He'd be in deep shit if I ever left him. :)

5. that sounds like my marriage
I took my husband' mac card away and his checks after he overdrafted a few times...

I gave him money to spend and took care of the rest...

Later after he got better about spending...he got the card back..and he is also a bit more thrifty now...

6. my husband used his debit card to get money in China, it would be helpful
if he sent me an email letting me know but he always forgets. I take care of the finances now that he's overseas all the time which i think is maybe a good thing.
