Weekend Plans? What are yours?
let's see...Today, I'm doing my parents' budget, and then I'll probably clean the house, and knit on the porch (it's a beautiful day!)

Tomorrow, grocery shopping, buying new kitty supplies, and cooking, most likely. Maybe some beach frisbee if the weather's good.

Sunday, going home to see some friends graduate, coffee with the Ex, and picking up kitty! :bounce:

What are y'all up to? :hi:

1. weekend plans
Edited on Fri Jun-01-07 11:31 AM by SarahBelle
Pat's picking up his son today and we're going to have the whole herd this weekend. My daughter's doing a run for cancer awareness tonight. Two of my boys have little league games tomorrow morning. We're all going to a party just for all the nursing grads (from my college) Sunday. Other than that, not sure, but we'll be busy enough. :bounce:

3. Today I'm going to clean house for a while
and then I'll fix dinner, take #4 son to baseball practice, then go to work. Tomorrow morning another baseball practice, then watch my Cubs game, then work, and on Sunday I'm not going to do any more than I absolutely have to -- well, except on Sunday night I work. And in between, I'll knit. I've almost finished the back of the sweater I'm working on now, I want to get to the front so that I can feel like I'm making progress.

4. I haven't knit in soooo long....
I'm going to dig around in the stash today and see what I find. Might stop in at Webs on Sunday and pick up some yarn for baby clothes, for my friend Kim's upcoming baby. :)

6. I love to knit...
it had been a while, but when #1 son and his SO were expecting, I pulled out the needles and haven't stopped since. I found some really adorable (and free) patterns for baby sweaters online, so that's what I used since I can't find the pattern book that I used when I knitted sweaters for my own kids.

If you go shopping for patterns for you, look for a book called "Hot Knits"...it's got 30 of the greatest sweaters in it. I just finished one out of that book *post whore alert* (it's in my 'post a picture' thread) and I'm working on another one.

I want to make something from my Vintage Knits book, but I have to wait until after the wedding/honeymoon to get the cash for the very nice and expensive yarn.

15. Block party, debate, and the Sox
I serve on the community affairs committee for Neighborworks Manchester, and we are having a neighborhood clean-up and block party on the city's west side tomorrow. I'm tasked with bringing the hot dog steamer and bottled water!

On Sunday, I'm going to the Obama campaign's debate watch party.

And, of course, the Sox play the Evil Empire this weekend!

22. Picking up the pieces of my shattered life, or to put it another way
Running the Lower Louie again--there are good pictures in the "lower" section. I will however take out before Fin Falls. I'm getting better as a paddler, but I know I am not ready for that paltter of beatdown.

After five years of serious paddling I am finally stepping up to class IV and class V stuff! It's very satisfying t test yourself and pass, but I've been walking around nervous for the last couple of weeks thinking about this. (This will be the 3rd week in a row I've done this) I'm getting a bit more confident, but I still "feel the fear."

I'm gonna take a break and dial it back a notch or two after sunday though!

cleaning and maybe some yard work. I'm totally bummed today because my husband was supposed to come home on Monday but today he called me and told me he won't be home until the 12th, i'm disappointed and more than a little pissed off at his boss--it's always about his family, btw he's almost always stateside so when he claims he has a family thing it really tees me off. My husband is gone like 200 days a year and his boss hardly ever travels.

Edited on Fri Jun-01-07 02:34 PM by Nicole
For real!

Friends who live out of town are buying a house here. They have narrowed their choices down to 3. They flew in and did a tour with the realtor of all the homes last Wednesday. Now they want me to go check out the neighborhood on the weekend, when people will be out & about. They want to know what kind of neighbors they will have & hope I can see the ones living on either side of the houses.

ETA:
They are tired of complaints that the kids are too loud, stepped on the grass, threw a ball over the fence, breathed, etc.. They are hoping to live next to families with kids this time. Since all 3 houses met all the other requirements, the neighbors will probably be the deciding factor for them.
