We had a border collie mix growing up - he was wonderful.

7. The cat is Dino.

I wouldn't call them buddies at this point, but Dino has exhibited a grudging acceptance of Frankie in the household. He'll even stay in the same room with Frankie now (just yesterday I was folding laundry in the living room - Dino was sitting in Mr. LIW's chair and Frankie was lying down at the foot of the chair, watching me fold).

Frankie is a Border Collie mix. The Humane Society believes he has some Husky blood; he looks to me like there's some German Shepherd there.

27. This was my apricot poodle Awsi

That's how I chose my user name, when he was lying beside me when I was contemplating a name. Dooger is what I called a dog as a young kid. My parents thought it was funny so it stuck.

Awsi lived until July 2005, nearly age 16. Not the best picture of him. I obviously avoided the red eye button. But it's the only one I could easily scan. He was old at this point but still could jump up on the living room couch. I miss him.

both happy girls and the brown one is now 12. THat pic was taken some years ago. She won't jump in the water for the ball anymore, but she still loves to swim...and if you toss the ball RIGHT in front of her, then she will grab it.

Both throw-away dogs and I found them. The black one was near death.

44. They lived up the road, the kid was a dog "collector".

The family didn't have a lot of money and rented a farmhouse up the road. At one point the kid had 20 dogs living there. None of them were fixed and they didn't get any kind of vet care. The house burned one night and their landlord managed to find homes for most of the dogs except Buddy, Angel & PeeDee. They were nice dogs so I agreed to take them in. Best thing that has happened in a while for me.

43. Dogs have the most gorgeous smiles

I love looking at pictures with dogs smiling. Its so heartwarming. My bulldog Thor has such a beautiful corny smile, I just break down and turn to mush everytime I see him smile.
