Well, hubby was extradited to the US but the wife was in WA state so the undercover narc who is the brother of the cop on the case was put in the cell with hubby and told to find out where she was and he went to get her and then she tried to slip him a mickey so he cuffed her and threw her in the trunk and drove her back into Canada. Happy ending, the U.S. got one half of the serial killing duo and Canada got the other one (there were victims in both countries :( )

3. That would be the original story
Except that there is an 'updated' version with some extremely ill-conceived revisions...

7. You mean the very first one ever? How incredible...
I still remember seeing it in the theater for the first time - I don't remember any other movie for decades after that; it made a huge impression...

9. Wow - what an experience
If that's her in your earlier post, she must have been very young. It says a lot both about the power of the movie and your hubby that it made such an impression...

10. It's the ole Star Wars, renamed
because he subsequently made three prequels to it.

Renaming a film years after the fact is the work of an asshole. ;)

11. yeah, i think he thought it was going to be a popular success, but had no idea...
it would become the icon it is and so we are to suffer ever-new rounds of lunch pals, t-shirts, prequels & re-titles of the same ole stuff it would seem ;)

15. There are only four posters in the lounge
any suggestion of more than that is a mere optical illusion. :hi:

12. He didn't rename the film
I went to Star Wars the day it hit the theatres.

Remember the neat "Star Wars Scroll" at the very beginning of the movie? Well...at the top of the scroll is very clearly emblazoned, "Episode IV: A New Hope."

The story of Star Wars was originally envisioned as a "supertrilogy." There were three big epochs--the Episodes 1-3 era, the Episodes 4-6 era and the Episodes 7-9 era--and each epoch would require its own trilogy of movies to explore. Unfortunately for the story line but fortunately for us, the middle epoch is the one Lucas chose to make first.

Be glad he didn't begin at the beginning--Jar Jar Binks woulda so alienated the world, we'd never have learned about Darth Vader.

13. That may be so (although I never noticed it), but...
the film was in the cinemas as Star Wars. The posters said Star Wars. When I was a kid, the films were: Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return Of The Jedi. Nobody ever called Star Wars "episode four" or anything like that. So yeah, he did effectively rename it.
