My Iguana has passed....
I got a call at 9 this morning from my brother...Raphael, my eternal nemesis and beloved iguana died during the night. He was living with my family, and about to move in with my Ex at his new apartment. He was about 7-8 years old, huge, and ornery. He seemed fine yesterday, running around, eating, etc. Sad...

I had to call my Ex and break the news. He's very sad now...

I hate stuff like this, especially in the morning when I've just woken up, but that always seems to be the way. :(

Thankfully my brother will deal with disposing of the remains, as I am 100 miles away right now.

x(

I'm so excited for you--few things are as much fun as a kitten. Adorableness overload. :bounce:

26. Yes! But, we're nto sure which one we're taking now...
See, puffball is verrry long haired, although very friendly. In other words, a cat that needs more constant brushing and cleaning.

shorthair is, well, shorthaired, and slightly less sociable, but getting friendlier every day. So, a challenge to acclimate, but less of a maintenance issue.

we'll see tomorrow, i guess. :)

We got the litter box, litter, food and water dishes, carrier, a scratching play thingie, treats, a harness and leash (we live in an apartment, but would love to take her out for park time once she's vaccinated), and a laser pointer. I'll see what my Mom's been feeding him/her (probably not kitten food, sigh... :eyes:) and try to wean onto a more appropriate kitten food. Need to find a vet out here, unless I want my old vet who's 75 miles away, hehe. I wish I could use him, he's awesome and very inexpensive. A serious animal lover. :)

10. Sorry to hear of your loss. Pets are like children.
My dog died (2003) and my husband and I were devastated. It took a long time before we could speak about him without crying. He was killed by another animal.

31. We chose cremation
I could not bear the thought of burying him and then moving away. He did sit on the mantel for awhile, then my husband said it was depressing seeing him there. So now he sits in my computer cabinet.

Not a warm fuzzy pet, but sounds like a personality in a rough, leathery hide. My condolences.

27. We lost our iguana Tyrone last fall
My eldest son worked at an exotic animal store, and one of the customers came in with Tyrone. He was moving into a smaller place, and just didn't have the room for him anymore.

We had him for four years. We used to let him out to wander around the house, and invariably he'd climb the chair nearest the sliding glass door to sun himself. Our four cats used to try to play with him; I guess they thought that he was just a funny-looking green cat.

He was almost five feet long when he died. Loved having his chin rubbed.
