We have a British pub 'round these parts that tries very hard to recreate the true pub experience, including importing folks from England to work in it. Having spent much time in real British pubs, I can say it was pretty authentic several years ago--seems to be on the skids lately (recently I ordered whatever lager was on tap and got HEINEKEN! :wtf: where's my Harp?!) Anyway, they used to be big on traditional pub grub so I tried toad-in-the-hole. The only thing I recall is that it was very greasy. Wouldn't do it again. That and a Scotch egg. :puke:
