3. I have a better idea.
A nerf gun with suction cup darts.

Used it on Tweety 30 or 40 times a night during impeachment.

Will not damage your TV.

Wouldn't advise this for SotU, though, if there are witnesses present. Save it for the idiots in the spin room afterwards.

4. VCRs are a good tool also
Since December 2000 I think I only heard George W. Bush speak on television for no more than one hour total.

I don't usually bother with mute, unless it's a live show where I can just edit out Tucker Carlson types, and listen only to the the James Carvilles.

I refuse to listen or watch President George W. Bush on television until it's his concession speech in November. For 3 years I've been quite successful thanks to remote control.

VCRs are good too. If I know Cspan will have a lot of Democratic electioneering on a certain day, I just tape Cspan at six hour increments, then fast forward later until I get to the good stuff.
There is a lot of "dead time" on Cspan that drives me nuts if I don't have it on tape.

5. My TV has a "Mime" button...
I wonder what happens if I push it...I'm betting whatever happens, I'll punch it thirty seconds later.
