What is your favorite "nasty" food item?
I've been reading about the different "nasty" foods that one would never eat, even for world peace and it got me to thinking. What is your favorite food that most people find disgusting?

I personally love raw oysters (from Acme Oyster House on a Saltine cracker with cocktail sauce and horseradish). I have also eaten squirrel, shark, snake, rabbit, and lots of other tasty "nasty" things.

5. I like broccoli, brussel sprouts, and mushrooms
Which were some of the few vegetarian foods people picked as things they would not eat.
I do not really love any non traditional meats. I have eaten turtle, but that was before I began to think much about the origin of the food I eat.

10. Snails
I thought I would hate them but I love escargot. When you think about there is not much difference between them and clams/oysters. Just mollusks with one shell instead of two.

The very thought makes me want to :puke:

17. Jellied pigs feet.
It's really an ethnic delicacy called "studinina" or "kochinina". You have to boil them first, then cool them in the broth, which makes like a jellied consomme. My dad made them best... I don't know how to prepare them like he did.

23. Sardines.
I used to hate them, but forced myself to eat them because they are fairly nutritious. They actually made me feel quite good after I ate them daily, and I really started to like the taste. Now I love sardines.

24. Sugar cones
They are 99 cents for 12 here at Smith's. Sometimes I eat them as a standalone.

And very often I'll buy a half gallon of ice cream but get so sick of it I flush it down the sink half way through. Then I'll eat the remaining 6 sugar cones, rationalizing I just did my body a favor by disposing of the unhealthy ice cream.

29. Chicken feet
Went to a Chinese dim sum restaurant where they pride themselves on being authentic mainland Chinese, and I found myself eating fried chicken feet there. I have to say that I was surprised by how good they were.
