5. Take a tour of 'The House of Seven Gables' ! Spooky!
http://www.7gables.org/

Salem's stories include the history of its name - which means "City of Peace"....

... you will discover a mysterious secret staircase where you least expect it!
Built in 1668, this is the oldest surviving 17th century wooden mansion in New England.
The House of the Seven Gables inspired author Nathaniel Hawthorne to write his legendary
novel of the same name.

12. No sweat.
Get some butcher paper and charcoal. Some of the cemeteries let you do grave-rubbings. Really creepy-cool indeed.

8. Our trip to Salem was the best vacation we ever took.
We went up at Halloween (very busy, picture Disney World on a weekend day). We went to the House of Seven Gables, which was very interesting, the Salem Witch Museum, the old cemetaries, had our fortune read, and we also went to a Russian Orthodox Mass on Sunday. It was very interesting. While we were in Massachusetts, we took advantage of the opportunity and went to Walden Pond and Harvard to pick up some souvenirs for my father-in-law. It was the best vacation ever. Make the most of it!
