What time is sunset in your area? |
|
Edited on Mon Jun-04-07 02:00 AM by u4ic
At 10:30 tonight, I just realized there was still plenty of light. (Mother Nature doesn't fool around here - two weeks ago there were barely any leaves on the trees; now everything is in full bloom. We have a short, but intense growing season).
Within a couple of weeks, sunset will be 11-11:30ish. Sunrise will be 4:30 am.
How about you? :hi:
edit: I'm in Edmonton

2. Sunset right about 8:00 PM |
|
I live in San Diego, CA, and the sun rises about 5:40 AM, and sets just a little before 8:00 PM. Right about now (or next week) is when the sun rises the earliest; the sun will set the latest, at 8:00 PM, in late June/early July. The earth's orbit is slightly elliptical, not a perfect circle, so the earliest sunrise and latest sunset are not right at the longest day of the year.
Being in San Diego, CA the longest days just don't seem quite long enough; not as long as they were in Chicago, where I did most of my growing up.
However the shortest days in December are not as short either as they are further north.

Trick question
So basically what you are saying is the closest you get to the top of the world in late spring the longer it takes for the sun to go down? In my head I figure its 6mos day, 6mos night at the poles, but...
