HIV rape orgies in the Netherlands
Edited on Mon Jun-04-07 09:43 AM by datasuspect
weird . . .

Men confess to HIV rape orgies

By Alix Rijckaert in The Hague
June 01, 2007 12:51pm

A gay gang that allegedly raped victims lured on the internet, drugged them and infected them with the AIDS virus has shocked the Netherlands and raised questions over its liberal sex culture.

A date rape drug known as "Easy Lay" and ecstasy were allegedly involved.

Health Minister Ab Klink called the case "horrible", as the press splashed the news across its front pages today.

The matter came to light yesterday, when police said they had arrested three men two weeks ago after four victims, men aged 25 to 50, accused them of rape and premeditated bodily harm.

1. Excuse me, but
...what do violent assault and drugging women against their wills have to do with the sexual culture?

2. A "liberal sex culture" has nothing to do with it. These men are psychopaths.
Incredibly dangerous psychopaths. The community should be careful as they would with any psychopaths. I hope that this doesn't result in them making orgies illegal there. Not something I would ever dream of doing, but adults should be allowed to do whatever they want to do. They should just be aware of the risk and take appropriate precautions.

I can't help but think about how many cases of HIV have been averted BECAUSE of the Netherlands' liberal policies regarding prostitution, providing HIV tests, prevention, and medical care to women in that profession. It would be a shame to allow a group of very sick individuals to change everything good that's been done there.

6. i'm wondering what would make someone justify this to themselves
seems rather sick and bizarre to me.

9. Psychopaths don't tend to work too hard to self-justify their violent crimes.
Just FYI. You're thinking about these people as normal folks who acted in a sick and bizarre fashion. They're mentally broken and they've been that way for a long time.

15. Actually they do
They're not justifications that would fly with any normal person but they often have very detailed and elaborate justifications that seem entirely rational to them.

That's part of criminal profiling - understanding what makes deviant criminals do the things they do. There is always a reason.

Nice try, misogynist MSM. Oh, except you are ALL PROPAGANDISTS. YOU ARE PROPAGANDISTS WHO GET AIR TIME AND OP/ED PAGE SPACE. Live with that, you disgusting pigs.

10. abc news cleaned it up a little
Edited on Mon Jun-04-07 09:42 AM by datasuspect
by replacing "gay" with "homosexual."

http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200706/s1939382.htm

but i still wonder what mental gymnastics it would take for one to reconcile themselves with something so reprehensible.

5. Eh, how do the actions of a few condemn a whole society?
What a shitty article on a horrible tragedy.

8. one reporter's opinion does not a condemnation make

here's a reuters article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070530/wl_nm/crime_dutch_hiv_dc_1

i didn't realize that news corp owns so many australian papers.

11. Well, the direct correlation implied between the behavior and the sex culture is shitty
And all that's there for me to comment on is the article, so therefore I support my claim of shittiness.

12. so, by implication the ''liberal sex culture'' in holland means that
all dutch are potential psychopaths?

i imagine this would be news to the dutch.

i do think that the media is more than infested with a few jerks that need to be fired.

16. i don't think that is the implication
i think the implication is that an incident like this has caused some dutch people to question the sexual permissiveness of their culture. i cannot agree or disagree with such statements unless i research the issue further and i have no inclination to do so.

but questioning the status quo in the light of seemingly fundamentalist identity politicized constituencies engaging in "psychopathic" behavior is more probable than making the leap that to ask these questions implies that all dutch are potential psychopaths. i disagree with the author's wording in this regard. he didn't express his case very clearly.

similarly, the dutch have always had very open immigration laws, but lately they are starting to get protective of their culture by making sure that immigrants give some evidence of being able to integrate into dutch culture. the royal dutch embassy has information regarding the new dutch civic integration examination.

so the reexamination of a culture's understanding is not without precedent.

but i didn't write the article, i don't live in the netherlands, and i can't read their language.

so, honestly, i really don't know.

18. the actions of a few -- for good or evil -- rarely
describe the beliefs or proclivities or much else of a whole culture.

it's never acceptable to use wording that the author used so easily ascribe ''tastes'' or the psychological landscape of a whole people.

yes -- cultures go through expansions and contractions{we are all too familiar with that right here these days} -- but it's just wrong to boil it down to a catch phrase.

the author constructed that phrase to editorialize -- without expertise or data or anything else to fill in his quaint and inaccurate attempt to paint a picture.

i.e. his wording wasn't an accident, yes?

you are right about the immigration issue -- all of europe is having to reassess immigration issues.

holland unfortunately does so in the light of that unfortunate assasination.

14. Catchy name for that date rape drug
:eyes:

Kind of reminds me of some of the euthanasia meds my veterinarian friend gets - things like EasyKill and InstaDeath (I can't remember the real ones but they were similar to that).

17. I thought that too.
It's a sick name to try to make rape sound pretty and legitimate. :grr:

If it's veterinary drugs then it's putting a pretty face on the agonizing choice to put a companion to sleep. I'm troubled by that, but at least it's not putting a pretty face on vicious crime.
