Why would a married woman start acting flirty with me?
She's cute, yeah, but even I know exaggerated cadence when I hear it. Well, these days I do...

I've always acted 'impartial' around people. Or thought I had.

Hmm.

1. Because she wants to have an affair
It's so adult! Like stockings and William Holden!

6. Or, perhaps, reverse psychology?
Maybe I made a suggestive look once and she is exaggerating comments to scare me away? Easily accomplished...

I do not know.

9. Unknown. I do know both of them
shop at Sam's Club. Not wearing my glasses, I didn't recognize either of them - she turned around and said "Hiiii!" and hubby wasn't looking too happy.

:wtf:

Humans and the games they play. I will not interfere in other peoples' relationships. Can people even understand the basic concept of morality?! Of course, it helps to ask direct questions and get answers, but even supervisors don't do that sort of thing so why should anyone else?

11. Black shoes, socks, trousers, undershirt. White overshirt.
The overshirt is usually a brighter color, but today I felt black'n'white.

Sometimes a colored undershirt and a white overshirt.

I wear slightly oversized pants with pleats because "Willy" can otherwise easily be seen if I wear anything non-pleated and I've noticed people tend to look. Pleats shroud, but they're not entirely effective either... :eyes: (I must be a real weirdo to still be single after 3.5 decades of existence on this big ball of fossilized compounds...)

8. Maybe she is close to ovulation?
http://sci-con.org/2006/10/dressing-up-with-hormones/

<snip>
The research builds on a new body of research showing subtle and surprising shifts in women’s behavior each month as they approach their most fertile period, including a propensity to flirt with men other than their mates and an inclination to stray from their routine in ways that are suggestive of mate-shopping. Meanwhile, the findings conflict with conventional wisdom among social scientists, who have long maintained that humans are rare among primates in showing no outward signs of entering fertile phases. Our closest living relative, the Chimpanzee, famously displays swellings of the genital area when fertile.

Still, the exaggerated cadence... instinct (or at least past history in general) suggests the obvious isn't the reality.

14. There are a lot of dissatisfied, married women out there
I was once propositioned to have a three-way with two married women, one of whom was pregnant at the time. The pregnant woman, the older of the two, was really curious about experimenting with another woman, the other just wanted to experiment with me. I suppose if I were a different person, I might have, depending on which way I go, either gone the Caligula route or sued them for sexual harassment, as they were both co-workers at the time. But, being who I am, I just declined the offer. After all, I was a still a virgin at the time and I think that would have been a little too much for a newbie.

and ticked off her husband is not as cute as you.

PS. This happened to me in real life and I kicked my so called best friend to the curb. When you start flashing the naked bush, it means you have gone past harmless flirting.

21. Women don't act flirty to "retaliate." It is possible she thought
you were being flirtatious and is responding. That, or she saw you bending down to tie your shoe and suddenly saw you in a whole new light. :) Enjoy; don't be so suspicious.

28. People are cruel; play hurtful games.
And a personality as naive and defective as mine, I got played like a real token, I regret to say.

All I respond with is, they're not showing off the better side of Christianity.

Maybe I'm wrong, but when it comes to rejection, I can sense it from a mile away.

31. Some people trifle* with others,
advertently or otherwise (acts and their effects are what matters; intentions are a matter for juries).

Treat it like useful, fun, inconsequential practice. Don't over-intellectualize -- and don't let it perturb your state and course.

*: To deal with something as if it were of little significance or value.
To act, perform, or speak with little seriousness or purpose; jest.
To play or toy with something.
