"Democrat" makes more sense in terms of consistency.

After all, when's the last time you heard of the Republicanic party or the Greenic party?

1. It's their psychological warfare
They probably got a memo to say democrat instead of democratic asmuch as they can.

You almost spelled "assmunch" huh hu hu hunh huh huh huh

We are Democrats, from the Democratic party.

But the republicans are, as you say, big into psychological warfare, and fully understand the power of naming and of defining the context of discourse. They understand it very well.

3. Exactly!
I hate it when they say: "Democrat" party.

It's a form of bullying...similar to the way * gives his underlings nick-names.

5. It goes back a long time

Back when I was a Weenie-tarian -- this was the late 1970s and early 1980s -- it was the "cool" way to say "Democratic Party." Being Clever and Advanced Thinkers, we would drop the -ic. And we knew what we were doing.

Misusing a person's or group's name is an old technique to show disgust. Remember KKKLintoon? Hitlery? Maybe using Republicanic Party or Republan Party -- then adding the explanation -- would be a good propaganda-busting technique.

Just keep in mind -- they're Republans, not Nazis. So stop saying that!
