More picking of nits: It's Donna "Summer" Not "Summers"
but I've noticed that that most everyone who sas "Summers" is generally not a fan... so that's an understandable mistake.

And... while we're at it... it's Suzanne Somers, not Suzanne Summers.

17. Well thank goodness SOMEONE
saw the humor in it! ;-) Sometimes my silly gags work, sometimes not.

Of course, you're absolutely correct. There is no such thing as too gay. Just different personalities.

is it worth reading?

5. Did you know her daughter is an actress
(Donna's daughter that is)?

She's on one of those UPN shows.

And Minnie Ripperton's daughter is Maya Rudolph (of SNL fame).

9. looking at that photo of Somers
one wonders if she is biodegradable. Her hair looks like it's formed from Play-do, and her face looks as if it was carved of cream cheese. Testament to the surgeon's art, or the airbrusher's? Only her hairdresser knows for sure, I suppose....

</bitchy rant>

10. You're right--that was bicthy--could have been written by Joyce DeWitt!
Did you know that on the ABC tribute to John Ritter a couple weeks after he died they couldn't get Suzanne or Joyce to appear because neither wanted to be in the same studio as the other?

Friggin ridiculous.

13. Donna Summer made some ugly anit-gay comments in the past...which I don't.
believe she's ever apologized for. Considering that her fan base has largely been comprised of gay men, I'm sorry, but I think that's a big slap in the face of the gay community.

She made her homophobic comments after she found religion.

I just have a real problem with that. You don't piss on the people who helped, in a big way, to boost your career.

I'm in a shitty mood right now. Sorry about that.

Terry

14. I recall all that, but there's some controversy over whether she actually
said all that, or that she was REPORTED to have said that.

Some reporter for some gay newsmagazine said she told someone that "Aids is your sin." It was all a lot of somebody knew somebody who heard her say these things.

Anyway, saw her on Arsenio and she addressed it saying you can't fight back gossip--I think she's wrong, and I think she took the wrong tact in all this, but I tend to believe she didn't say those things.

Edited on Mon Jan-19-04 11:11 AM by ronnykmarshall
In SF some people call BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) "The" BART.

Don't even ask what they call the Fresno Area Rapit Transit! :silly:
