16. If necessary? Of course; how could anyone vote "no"?
Edited on Wed Jun-06-07 12:03 AM by MJDuncan1982
Would it ever be necessary? Dunno...but that would be a more illustrative poll...

33. However...
I guess we "know" what they meant, right? (I hate wasting policy discussion time because people are loose with grammar, syntax, logic, etc.)

As I see it, the question was asked to draw out, at least, two things: 1) the candidate's position on the use of nuclear weapons and 2) the candidate's position on Iran.

The first question begs the question that the use of nuclear weapons is ever necessary. The best answer would have been to call that out and say that the use of nuclear weapons is never necessary. The second question is simply a policy question. It could have been answered after the candidate repudiated the use of nuclear weapons by stating that all other forms of military force may be necessary and, if so, that they would be used.

23. Under what circumstances would it be "necessary?"
The phrasing of the question assumes it might be necessary to nuke Iran. If it was necessary, then we really don't have much choice in the matter.

that means there is a chance that it might not be necessary.

32. Conditional on whether nuking Iran is necessary or not. And the question assumes
that it is necessary.

How anyone can answer "no" to any such question is beyond me.

I'm much too lazy to Nuke Iran myself. Of course if the government wants to do it for me, who am I to stand in the way. I would prefer that they move out all the women, children and seniors first.

Considering the last news I got was my cousin was on a nuclear sub in the Persian Gulf, I'm going to have to go with no.

I don't think I've cried harder in my life then when I found that out.

I hate *.
