I have a 100 calorie bag of kettle corn popcorn
And I have a question

Why is the unpopped bag of popcorn 110 calories
and when it is popped its only 100 calories....
Anyone know why....
just a stupid question for a Tuesday night

1. Maybe some of the "butter" sticks to the bag
When you pop it.....and unless you scrape it all off and eat it, you lose 10 calories.

2. Possibly because some of the grease remains...
as residue on the inside of the bag of popped popcorn? If you eat the unpopped popcorn, maybe you'd eat all of the grease stuff and kernals?

I'm sure that the manufacturer doesn't expect you to eat the bag with grease residue after you eat the popped popcorn, though I wouldn't be surprised if there's someone out there who does.
