The last photo was taken in the Pergamon Museum, which is in Berlin!
I don't remember which exhibit it was in.....
I love it too! That sort of bas relief has always intrigued me...

Thank you for sharing them. I still haven't made it to Prague, even though I've researched it a bit. It's amazingly well preserved, isn't it? I love the old town one. Well, I love all of them, but that is my very favorite!
I hope you'll post more, if you get a chance. :hi:

Oh, thanks, sweetie!
Glad you had a moment to have a look...
Actually, the concentration camp didn't make me feel sad...
It's really quite peaceful now...
Or maybe I was just not letting myself feel the deeper emotions...
This wasn't a death camp per se....It was used to warehouse people, and as a waystation to the death camps...
I don't know...

36. Beautiful pictures C-P. |
|
The first one of the boar was a way cool carving. The first camp picture froze me.. I am "apprenticing" with an acquaintance of mine. He is a Jeweler who's parent both survived the holocaust. He dad was from Germany, and his mom was from Czechoslovakia. I was leaving his apartment/workshop this afternoon and he mentioned that he was happy to pass on what he had learned to me because feels the Jewish people, and the Native American's both suffered much the same fate. It was today that he mentioned both his parents origins, and experiences. Weird timing to see the gate entry with the German wording "Work Will Set You Free", that was what the prisoners/victims of Auschwitz saw as they entered that camp..

Wow, what a bunch of weird coincidences, indeed...
The phrase "Work Will Set You Free" was used by the Germans ironically, BTW...
