3. My work day was all over the map
While I was out sick yesterday...the cow-irker that I can't stand tendered her resignation. Yay! But my boss called me into her office and told me I was picking up a significant part of that cow-irker's workload. Boo.

The load will lighten itself. :D

I am glad you are free of her. Fewer things are more stressful than a disagreeable co-worker.

5. the really sad part...
is that you're right. The big thing I'm taking over is writing the final report on a project the other person had been team leader on. despite the fact that I was barely involved in the project...with me writing the report it will be a MUCH better product. That was the first thing my boss said to me about it.

17. I just want some rain
4 inches of rain since July. Otherwise, I haven't noticed anything unusual. (My commute takes me from sea level to 1200 feet and back, so I experience wild differences on a 'normal' day).

Just a little rain...

21. Starbucks is probably one of the most socially conscious corps out there
Not saying a lot, given the standards, but shit dude: Free coffee all day, a POUND a week of coffee to take home, and benefits + tuition reimbursement.

Sexxy :D

'Course, this isn't a job I'm looking to support Kyle and I on, but it's a start til I find either a biotech job or a teaching position :)

22. A friend of mine was once a supe there
He had so much free coffee from the pound a week, that my freezer was STOCKED with free coffee. :D

You will learn that in the 'real world', *all* corporations are soulless and suck, so you have to learn where you are comfortable compromising. Free coffee and decent healthcare isn't bad when you are attempting to find your 'real job' later. :-)

23. true this.
I *have* to get a real--aka more sucky-- job asap when my student loans kick in...but for now, I don't mind what I do.

At least I didn't have to give a piss test...to be honest, I was shocked about that.

25. Well, they are based in Seattle
If they didn't allow stoners to work at Starbucks, the company would have collapsed long ago. :smoke: Plenty of those up there, lol.

When I moved to Seattle in 1988, there were fewer than a dozen, and all in Seattle. I thought it was surreal in the 90's when they took off... :donut:
